Canby Educational Foundation (CEF) will consider special grant requests during interim funding periods on a case by case basis; however, you are encouraged to plan ahead and submit your application as soon as you are able to provide the required information.

The focus for the 2007 – 2008 school year is on installation of amplification systems, scientist-in-residence programs and after school programs. CEF will consider other grant requests based upon scope and impact to the student. Therefore, we strongly encourage all grant requests that support our goals.

Grant approval is at the discretion of the CEF Board of Directors and is subject to availability of funds. Although we will consider exceptional grant requests for up to $5,000, smaller projects will receive priority consideration. Funds for projects approved will be available through Canby School District requisition forms. CEF then reimburses the district.

                                                                 Guidelines for Grant Application Evaluation

The Foundation will give priority consideration to applications that include one or more of the following:

  1. A project or activity that represents an enhancement to everyday learning, not a replacement of existing curriculum.
  2. A project or activity that benefits an entire student body or a significant number of students at a school.
  3. A project or activity that provides the opportunity for CEF to co-fund with other organizations and/or service groups.
  4. Field trip expenses which include only reimbursement for fees related to educational programs or tours (e.g. museum entrance fees).

In General, the Foundation funding will not support the following:

  1. Activities benefiting a single applicant.
  2. Payment for substitute teaching.
  3. A project or activity already in progress for which prior budgeting would have been necessary or advisable.
  4. Athletic activities

Grant Application Cover Page

Please use this page as the cover page for your application and attach additional pages describing the information requested in items 1 - 6. Be as specific as possible in responding to each item. Incomplete items will delay consideration of your proposal and may result in its rejection. Your building principal must prepare a letter supporting your application that addresses the priority level of your project in terms of building budget and goals. Please be aware that conditions of a grant award include the requirement for a post-program summary (i.e., a retrospective review of the project’s accomplishments and benefits for the student population served) and submission of a final budget and related expenditure receipts.
