2001

91 School – Support for Susan Fletcher, local author, giving four presentations to teach the children about the process of writing a book, telling a story, and doing research on a topic.

Trost – Field Trip for 4th graders to experience history first hand. Students visited the Interpretive Center, Summit Prarie, Barlow Pass, Emigrant Hill, Pendleton Underground and the Umatilla Indian Tampamastslit Cultural Center.

Trost – Adelane con Lectura/ Ahead with Reading – Purchased materials and books to create literacy boxes for ELL families of kindergarten and first graders. These are checked out each week and facilitate interaction with books and activities between these young students and parents.

2000

Knight School – Funded the Missoula Theater Workshop where students produced Sleeping Beauty.

Eccles School – Field Trip Expenses

Carus School – Funding Tears of Joy Theater Puppet project where students created and performed a play. This was a year-long integrated project and students kept track of their activities an experiences in journals.

1999

Carus Elementary – Third Grade Reading Tutoring Program

Ackerman Middle School – Geographic Information Sytem Software

Knight Elementary – Missoula Theater Workshops

Eccles Elementary – Computers, printers and software for computer lab

C H S – Environmental Science Equipment for new Earth Science and Chemistry classes

Knight Elementary – Expenses for 4th grade field trip to Bonneville Dam, Oregon Trail Interpretive Center and Regional Museum and Whitman Mission in Eastern Oregon

Ackerman Middle School – Purchased 35 graphing calculators to enhance math instruction and real life applications

Eccles Elementary – Funding for Sam Bernardi, Artist in Residence, and a tile painting and mosaic project permanently displayed in the Eccles main corridor

Trost Elementary – Purchased Math Manipulative materials to aid in student understanding and achievement

Trost Elementary – Funding of Hyperstudio Software for grades 2-5 and Geometry Sketchpad software, grades 3, 4 and 5 to be used in the new 30 station IMAC lab.

K-8 District Wide- ESL Academic Summer School Scholarships

Eccles Elementary- Support of Art Literacy Program housed at Eccles but available District-wide and Artist in Residence Program with Pianist Michael Harrison

Trost Elementary – Expansion of Pilot Program for Bilingual Kindergarten
