Ackerman - International speaker series, former first Lady of Korea visited students for an all-day experience.

CHS - Soil sterilizers purchased for the horticulture students, allows for soil to be recycled and reused for projects.

91 - Butterfly Pavilion and Larvae Project, first graders experienced the life cycle of larvae to mature butterfly.

Eccles / Trost – IXL Math Program license.

CHS - Books

Knight - Battle of the Books, purchase of additional sets of books for students to compete in a reading contest.

Lee - Artist in residence, Aaron Meyer, brought his musical expertise for students to compose and perform.

Carus – Author in residence, Rosanne Perry will teach the art of creative writing.

CHS - Print/audio books that are recorded by high school students and then shared with Eccles students.

CSD – Every fourth and fifth grade student in the Canby School District will participate in a hands-on ecology program presented by Scientists in Residence from local nonprofit organization, Ecology in Classrooms & Outdoors (ECO).

91 – OMSI Star Lab at the school to help understand the earth’s place in the solar system and the universe and to describe natural objects, events and processes outside the earth, both past and present

C H S – Brought noted speaker and author of When Broken Glass Floats, Chanrithy Him, to Canby to speak on her survival under the Khmer Rouge

Trost – Artist in Residence Sam Bernardi, to help 1st and 2nd graders with planning, creating and installing five 4 X 8 panels with torn paper mosaic collages

Trost – Western Oregon Field Trip to include OMSI, Tillamook Railroad, Marine Science Center and Fort Clatsop for 4th graders

Knight – Phillip Foster Farm Field Trip for 3rd graders to show them how life was in pioneer days

Knight – ELMO Visual Digital Projector and Cart , to enhance classroom learning in reading, math science and art

Ackerman – Living History Day Celebration with presenters sharing their memories of events such as the Vietnam War and the Holocaust.

Eccles School – Bridges in Mathematics, a program strong in teaching math concepts through a series of concept oriented games and activities.

91 School – Funded Artist in Residence Albert Alter, mime artist, where mime, drama and improvisation merged in a relationship between ideas, images, creativity and written word.

Ackerman – Welcome Everybody Program to enable incoming 6th graders for a smooth transition to middle school

C H S – FFA Display Boards for presentations of final student projects.

C H S – Mathematics Graphing Calculator Software

Eccles – Art Literary Program Brought Aaron Meyer, Violinist, who had each class select their curriculum and compose lyrics which were then set to music. An evening performance at the Fine Arts Center for family and community followed.

Canby School District Third Graders – Attended a Nutcracker performance at the Fine Arts Auditorium after lessons by music specialists on the art form of ballet, the music, the composer, the story, and appropriate audience etiquette.

Eccles – Quarter Mike Math and Math Facts in a Flash software purchase.

Eccles – Art Literacy Program: Grandma Moses and field trip to the Portland Art Museum Grandma Moses exhibit and OMNIMAX Theater for 82 students.

91 School – Do Jump / Extreme Physical Theater , a cultural event blending dance and movement to tell stories and create magic on stage to demonstrate spontaneity and discipline in the art of performance.

Ackerman – Creation of Student Peace Advocates , focusing on making schools a safe place

C H S – Model United Nations Conference for students to represent India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh
