Board of Directors


Katie Jones Katie received a Psychology degree from the University of Oregon in 1984.  Katie then went to work in the mental health field at Waverly Children’s Home and Riverside Psychiatric Hospital as a therapist.  She also spent one year working for the Tigard School District in the Title One reading program.  Katie has been a full time mom and part time volunteer since 1989.  Katie has volunteered with the Canby School District in the following ways; classroom volunteer, Art Literacy program, PTA Vice-President and Chairman, 4-H wildlife steward.  Katie is currently helping in the Canby High School counseling department assisting with education and career opportunity program.  She also helps with the job shadow program affiliated with the school to career department.  She is on the executive board as corresponding secretary for local chapter of PEO.  Katie and her husband, Jeff, reside in the Canby School District and have two children enrolled in Canby schools.

Gay Kuykendall - Gay has been a resident of Canby since 1968.  She taught high school in neighboring communities and substituted at Canby High School for over 20 years.  Gay was active with Oregon Schools Activities Association and the Dance-Drill Coaches Association as a coach, judge, and judges' director of dance and drill for 15 years.   She has also volunteered much of her time with local Canby activities and has worked with the Canby School district and community to help pass four school bonds since 1988.  Gay and her husband Gary currently reside in Canby.  They have one grown child.

Candi Millar - Candi is the past Executive Director of the Canby Educational Foundation.  She has been involved in the Canby schools since 1986 where she began as the PTA Secretary for Ninety-One School.  She is a past-member of the Ninety-One School Board (prior to unification) and Whiskey Hill Kids and has served on various steering committees for school bonds and measures.  She and her husband, Steve, are life-long residents of Canby , where they each attended Canby Schools, as did their son and daughter. She has two granddaughters. 

Jamie Netter (January to June 2008) - Jamie worked as a a legal-assistant for 12 years.  Her involvements include past President of Cecile Trost Elementary PTA, past Vice-President for the Canby Community Preschool, Board of Director for Canby Community Preschool, committee chairperson for Canby Area Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and past and current steering committee member for various Canby School District bonds and measures.  Jamie and her husband, Nick, own a residential construction business in Canby.  They have two children who are busy with many sport and school activities.  

Thomas Nolan - Tom was employed with Hyster and Tektronix from 1973 until 1990 as a purchasing agent and contract negotiator for engineering projects.  In 1990 he opened a successful leasing company where he remains to date.  His past and present memberships include the past President for the Canby Rotary Club, Canby Chamber of Commerce, United Association of Equipment Lessors, Better Business Bureau, Certified Leasing Professional, and U.S. Marine Corp Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association.  He currently resides in Canby.

Roger Reif - Roger is an attorney with the local Canby law firm of Reif, Reif & Thalhofer.  He graduated from Canby High School in 1966 and then moved onto Willamette University where he received his B.A. and J.D. in 1970 and 1975, respectively.  Roger is the Past President and current member of the Canby Chamber of Commerce, Canby Rotary and Willamette Valley Country Club, and also a past Canby School Board member.  Along with serving as a member of Canby Rotary, Advisory Board for Willamette Falls Hospital and volunteering for Our Community Television System (OCTS), Roger continues to keep busy with his many interests in hunting, gardening and golf.  He resides in Canby with his wife Stephanie.  They have a daughter and a son.

Charles E. Stinson Charlie has been with NW Natural for nearly 29 years, currently serving as the Managing Director, Project Development.  He is a lifetime resident of Canby and a product of the Canby school system.  He and his wife Denise have raised their family of two children, one daughter and one son, in Canby and they both attended Canby schools, graduating in 1999 and 2002 respectively.  Charlie serves on numerous community related organizations, including Canby Rotary as past president and director.  He also served for 12 years as an elected school board member in the Canby School District.  Charlie has a bachelors degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado and is a registered Petroleum Engineer in Oregon.
