CEF is pleased to announce that Grace Saad has accepted the newly created position of Community Based Education Facilitator. Grace will forge alliances with the community and business partners that provide volunteer services and support to the school, students and families, with a focus on critical thinking skills.
A Mississippi import, Grace Saad has been living and working in Oregon since June 2007, when she moved to Oregon to work with the Forest Service on Mount Hood. A magna cum laude graduate in public relations, Grace worked with the volunteer interpretive program in Mount Hood National Forest and Timberline Lodge to plan and promote special events, write grants, organize volunteers, and guide visitors through the forest on hikes, tours, and service projects. After working on Mount Hood for three years, Grace moved to Cannon Beach to act as the director for the Cannon Beach History Center and Museum, developing exhibits, planning special events, managing development, and overseeing volunteers. Grace also recently completed her masters in teaching at Western Oregon University and is excited to combine her passion for program coordination and education to make the Canby Educational Foundation’s community outreach program a success.
